Our Alumni
The Department of International Relations functions as a key discipline that opens doors to numerous professions. Given the departmental and alumni profiles, it is evident that our department cultivates competent, modern-minded students capable of working across a wide spectrum of fields rather than a single profession.
In this regard, while our graduates are eligible for many positions suitable for graduates of other departments within the Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences; diplomacy, bureaucracy, international organizations, and multinational corporations are the sectors where they are most in demand. The fundamental advantage of being a Galatasaray University graduate in professional life is the opportunity to belong to an elite community regardless of the field, the international educational opportunities provided, and the requirement of proficiency in at least two languages as a condition for graduation.
The International Relations Undergraduate Program enables our graduates to pursue careers:
- Within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other relevant public sector institutions;
- In domestic and international offices of international organizations;
- In the communication, press, and media sectors, as well as international finance and trade;
- Within national and/or multinational companies in the private sector;
- Within Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and consultancy firms;
- In the academic field.
The multidisciplinary nature of the curriculum—comprising theory and practice of international relations based on law, history, economics, sociology, and thematic/regional studies—aligns with the highest international academic criteria as well as the aforementioned professional goals.
